Hitachi GST Increasing Output of HDDs for Car Navigation Systems

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies recently announced it will increase annual output of hard disk drives for car navigation systems by 60% to approximately 700,000 units, as the company is expecting a 60% growth in the market for car navigation systems in 2005. To increase output, production capacity will be added at the company's plant in the Philippines.
